The Finnish-Norwegian Cultural Institute promotes co-operation between artists and cultural professionals. The objective of the NORD programme is to strengthen networks and activities between cultural practitioners in northern Norway, northern Finland and Sápmi as part of an international cultural exchange. Cultural practitioners operating in the north work across national borders, which provides a natural starting point for co-operation.
The programme consists of various events and projects such as conversations, open calls, residencies, networking events, visitor programmes and performances. It will bring artists, cultural practitioners and organisations together with the objective of creating dialogue on current, common themes. The programme will concentrate on long-term partnerships and activities to create closer connections between cultural actors, based on mutual understanding and respect.
Projects are initiated and run in collaboration with partners operating in the north, from institutions and organisations to individual artists and curators. During the programme, we will create new contacts and initiate new collaborative projects. We are actively looking for projects that are socially and ecologically sustainable.
