The Audience Club at CODA Festival – From sensation to meaning 9 – 19 October 2025

Anna Kozonina’s The Audience Club is a participatory program at CODA – Oslo International Dance Festival, where a small group of people experience festival performances together, discuss dance, meet artists, and reflect on what moves or challenges them.

The Audience Club provides a safe and stimulating space to connect dance to personal and social experiences, build confidence in expressing your perspective, and explore performance through both intuition and analysis. CODA’s first Audience Club focuses on tuning into immediate reactions to dance and exploring how these responses relate to upbringing, values, expectations, and desires.

The program is led by Anna Kozonina, a Finland-based dance writer, researcher, and educator. She currently gives lectures on dance and performance theory, curates educational programs, works as a dance dramaturg, and conducts research projects.

Find the full program on CODA’s webpage.

The Audience Club is part of Anna Kozonina’s current research on audience development in contemporary dance, supported by the Kone Foundation.

The programming of the Audience Club during the CODA Festival is carried out in collaboration with Rom for Dans and supported by The Finnish-Norwegian Cultural Institute.
