Aniisa Mikander joined our institute as an EDUFI intern on 2 March 2026 and will be working with our team until the end of June.
Aniisa graduated as a cultural producer from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences last autumn. She has previously worked in event production and communications at cultural centers. “Themes that have been particularly interesting in my work and studies include youth as a target group, accessibility, international perspectives, and cultural heritage,” Aniisa says.
In her free time, Aniisa watches a lot of TV series, does crossword puzzles, and bakes rye bread. She enjoys going to the gym and exercising outdoors, and has also started skiing this winter. She also has a broad interest in culture and art, from museums to performing arts.
What motivated you to apply for an internship at FINNO?
I have always been interested in an international career, and once I knew I wanted to move to Norway, an internship at the institute seemed like a wonderful opportunity to learn about the country’s cultural scene and cultural exchange. The institute’s values and its work in promoting accessibility and projects within different art fields also align with my own values as a producer. I want to learn more about international cooperation, and I find it particularly interesting to work in the context of Finland and Norway, as I currently live between the cultures of these two countries.
What are your goals for the internship?
My goal is to learn more about cultural exchange and international cooperation, as well as to develop my skills as a producer in an interesting work environment. I also want to network, learn more about the Norwegian culture scene, and improve my Norwegian language skills, especially as a working language.
How do you feel about moving to Oslo and starting your internship?
I’ve already lived in Oslo for six months before starting my internship, so the city feels quite familiar and the biggest culture shocks are behind me. I am starting my internship in good spirits and with enthusiasm, and I believe it will open a new and inspiring chapter in my life here. I am looking forward to seeing what spring in Oslo is like after a long winter.
Welcome, Aniisa!
