Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF) invites filmmakers to participate in two calls for projects: Films from the North and NORTH Pitch.

Films from the North
Submission deadline: 18 October

Films from the North is TIFF’s programme for films from the Barents Region and other circumpolar areas. Films are qualified if the subject, the production, or the director is connected to the northern regions of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Canada, or Iceland.

Feature films as well as shorts and documentaries are eligible. Selected films can be shown in or out of competition. Feature films need to have the Norwegian premiere with the festival to be selected for competition. See submission form and further guidelines on the festival’s website.

NORTH Pitch
Submission deadline: 8 November

NORTH Pitch is a forum that allows filmmakers to present their documentary projects to investors from several countries, in order to provide funding. The 16th edition will take place January 14 – 17, 2025, during Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF).

Participating films can be focusing on culture, environment, resources, politics, climate changes as well as general human stories. The only absolute requirement is that the film is about life above the Arctic Circle or below the Antarctic. Read more and submit your project on the festival’s website.
